Clear chill or definite cast iron Rolls
The working surface of clean chilled Rolls shows the white graphite free structure consisting of eutectic carbide and transformed austenite. Its gives hard layer which confers good resistance to wear. Compared to gray iron, white chill iron is less salt strong and incapable of withstanding high dynamic stresses, but away to its greater hardness has better resistance and has high compressive strength it retains a fair proportion of its strength at a elevated Temperature. The depth of chill is uniform so that the products are highly dependable.
Applications
These Rolls are excellent work Rolls 2H1, 3H1 and 4H1 Mills. These Rolls are classified into various hardness categories suitable for different kinds of applications such as all Alloy chilled Rolls give good service to the intermediate stands of Mills producing Rod and light sections, girders, U-beam and other similar sections.
